foreign concepts
Last night, a date introduced me to Ethiopian food. Since I am not picky at all* when it comes to food and trying new things, the actual going on a date part was more of a foreign concept to me. Oh well, I gave it a shot.
First, I was surprised to find out Charlotte actually has an Ethiopian restaurant, and secondly, that it was a hidden gem. Enter The Red Sea. Now to the food.

And this is what comes out.
I know what you are thinking - it is actually really good. Order it spicy. And by the way, no forks needed here. Tear a piece of the spongy stuff they stack on your plate and grab a bite. Who doesn't want an excuse to eat with their hands?
*DISCLAIMER: Not picky at all, except when it comes to sushi. I want to love it, I do. What cool person do you know that doesn't like sushi?? Now I have given it my fair shot and will continue, until hopefully one day I will find the perfect combo or my taste buds change. Until then, I will stick to my edamame and soup.

Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve.... You don't have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

currently on repeat
I find this song very soothing. I want to blast it in my car with the windows rolled down on a random road trip.

Exactly four weeks until I take my GRE. Still not sure what I want to go back to school for, where I want to go, or when. I do know, however, I need to do decent on this test and the score is good for five years. I have found getting back in study mode a little difficult and hope that I will be able to focus in on the task at hand very soon.
I also have found that I could of killed the math section of this test in seventh grade. What did I do in college??
And just a trip down memory lane - remember please excuse my dear aunt sally? Yeah, I didn't either.
I will get serious...starting Sunday.

rooty
Now this blog post is obviously nothing new or trend-setting. I know that ombre hair has been around for, well in fashion life, ages. I am happy to see it is still surviving and kicking (despite articles like this). Why? Because I am obsessed. I think I spend more time looking at celeb/models hair than their fashions. I am incredibly lucky to have a Paul Mitchell stylist as my sister. Score.
I lust the following hair:
