an honest heart

After having a sleep over with my mom this past weekend and needing a book to fall asleep, I picked up one out of her collection (mostly from the 1990s). Although the book was slightly cheesy and I will not even share the title (not a self help, but it did involve the word Harley), the message was a good one. One hour later, the book was finished and I am reminded of the importance of being your real self. And no, not so BAM! the man of your dreams arrives on your doorstep, but that one should be attracted to your real self and not one ounce less.

peace out

Well I just did something I never thought I would do - I got rid of my facebook account (ok, ok deactivated it). Although it may be temporary, I feel that it is a step I needed to take in my current, crazy life. I have an amazing job that I love (well most of the time) and am working on finding the right balance between my working life and personal (right now this part is pretty much 10% or less). I figure that between having two phones (I feel like such a tool) and multiple other social networking, facebook can go. I want to appreciate my life and everyone around me for what I really have and not what their lives look like on the book. I am taking a time out from everyone elses' issues (hello diary status updates) and concentrating on me and what I need to do to find my peace in this crazy time in life they call the mid-twenties.

daily inspiration

"You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it."

on to the next one

Today as I clean out my desk and say my goodbyes, reality is really starting to hit me. My daily life as I have known it for the past 3 years is changing. Bittersweet. Pretty damn sweet though.
